PM Sheikh Hasina seeks Kuwait investment and more manpower recruitment from Bangladesh


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina requested the Kuwait government to recruit more Bangladeshi workforce to that country. Referring to Bangladesh's quality goods, the Prime Minister said, Kuwait can import a number of products like ceramics, pharmaceutical, frozen fish, leather and leather goods. About her government's capital and maintenance dredging programmes, she said, normal flow of waters in major rivers of Bangladesh is essential to avert natural calamities like floods and drought. In this context, she sought dredgers and other support from Kuwait to implement the programme. Kuwait today assured Bangladesh to provide all necessary support for the economic development of Bangladesh and procurement of dredgers for implementing the government's capital and maintenance dredging in the country's major rivers. The assurance came when Kuwait Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullatif Ali E Al-Mawashi paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office here this morning. During the meeting, the Prime Minister said Bangladesh attaches due importance to its relations with Kuwait as both countries have been enjoying excellent fraternal ties since long. Sheikh Hasina expressed satisfaction over close cooperation of the two courtiers in different international fora and looked forward to further deepening bilateral relations in all conceivable spheres. The ambassador handed over a letter of invitation to Sheikh Hasina to visit Kuwait. Accepting the letter, the Prime Minister thanked the Ameer and the Prime Minister of Kuwait for the invitation. They discussed different issues like climate change, bilateral trade and business, export of more Bangladeshi manpower and goods to Kuwait.
